Elvis Pudding Recipe

Be a pal & share with others:

You know how people use to say that Elvis’ favorite food was a peanut butter, banana, and bacon sandwich? Well, I decided to take it to the next dessert level and make a pudding with all those ingredients so my friends, we can consider this Elvis Pudding recipe the one.

Elvis Pudding RecipeAnd let’s talk about it for a second. This recipe is easy, even if making desserts is not your thing and you prefer to spend your day outdoors grilling steak after steak this dessert is something that you can really make. It’s not full of crazy to follow steps, and it’s chock full of flavor.

Elvis Pudding RecipeAnd when I say chock full of flavor I really mean it. This is not a bland pudding not at all! Elvis pudding is packed with peanut butter and with bananas and with a bit of bacon (who am I kidding? a lot of bacon) and then drizzled with chocolate syrup and topped with cookie crumbs (to resemble the bread).

Elvis Pudding RecipeSo how did we pack it with all of those ingredients? This is just a matter of simmering everything into a sauce pan and let it become creamy and velvety on its own.

Elvis Pudding RecipeSo you would need some mashed bananas, a couple of heaping tablespoons of peanut butter and some crispy bacon (I’m pretty sure those are staples in your pantry) and then some heavy cream, sugar, and toppings.

Elvis Pudding RecipeThat’s all you need, and there’s no crazy secret ingredient that needs to be sourced from the gourmet store.

Elvis Pudding RecipeAnother great thing? You can make it ahead of time so cook it up today and enjoy it tomorrow (or the day after that), being able to make it ahead is especially handy if you want to make it for a party.

Elvis Pudding Recipe

Ingredients

  • PB, Banana and bacon, Chocolate syrup, cookie crumbs
  • 2 mashed bananas
  • 3 tbsp peanut butter
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 5 crispy bacon strips, chopped
  • Topping
  • Cookie crumbs
  • Chocolate syrup

Directions

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat mix the bananas, peanut butter, heavy cream, and sugar.
  2. Simmer and stir for 5 minutes.
  3. Reduce to low heat and stir for 1 more minute.
  4. Remove from the heat, add the bacon, and let it cool down for 10 minutes.
  5. Transfer to a bowl and take to the fridge for 3 hours.
  6. When ready to serve, pour into small bowls, top with cookie crumbs and chocolate syrup.
  7. Serve and enjoy you big hunk of burnin’ love.

BBQ Bowl Recipe

Be a pal & share with others:

If you’ve been a reader around here for a while then you probably already know how deeply passionate I am about grilled dishes. For me cooking properly seasoned BBQ food is an art on its own and grilling is a great excuse to invite friends over to enjoy some home cooked meal and some cold drinks. But at the same time is the perfect way to cook a powerful weeknight dinner like this BBQ Bowl Recipe. BBQ Bowl Recipe This BBQ bowl has two things that make me make it day after day: BBQ Bowl Recipe 1. It’s super quick to make, so even if you are grilling the meat that same day you can still finish it up in under 30 minutes. You can also swap some things to fit whatever you like and have on hand already like maybe extra cheese or some lettuce. BBQ Bowl Recipe 2. You can use leftover meat from a BBQ to make it! This is for me the most important thing and the reason I’ve made this dish so much during Summer. After we host a BBQ at home, we are always left with bits and pieces of meat, so I just throw them in this bowl and call it a dinner. Trust me when I said this will come handy for the Labor Day weekend. BBQ Bowl Recipe And then it’s the fact that this is really delicious because honestly, that’s probably one of the most important things a good meal should be. The meat is perfectly seasoned, the avocado provides a lot of creaminess (that in my opinion is a must), and the cucumber is cool and gives all the crunchiness a good dish should have.  If you are feeling like taking this to the next level you can also add some bacon bits and a drizzle of bbq sauce. BBQ Bowl Recipe

BBQ Bowl Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds meat
  • 2 tbsp BBQ sauce
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 Tsp paprika

Directions

  1. Take the meat to a bowl and season it with the BBQ sauce, ground ginger, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Transfer to a pan over medium heat or griller and cook until desired doneness.
  3. Place meat on cutting board and slice into strips.
  4. Fill the bowls with the rice, avocado, cucumber and meat. Serve and enjoy.

Chocolate Cookie Bars RecipeChocolate Cookie Bars Recipe

I have to admit with you all, that I’m not a big fan of desserts. Sure I like to eat them, cooking them? Not so much. Let’s say that spending time baking something is not on my list of favorite things. However, every once in a while I find a recipe that I absolutely need to make like these Chocolate Cookie Bars recipe, and I hop on the baking bandwagon with both feet.

This Chocolate Cookie Bars recipe is simple to make and really delicious. They are also the perfect dessert or snack to whip up for us that don’t love to bake. The base is chewy and crunchy (everything a good cookie should be) and the topping is parts peanut butter parts grated chocolate because honestly more chocolate is always a good choice.

Chocolate Cookie Bars Recipe

So how can a guy who doesn’t bake whip up this? Easy, mainly because this recipe is easy. But here are a couple of things that you need to keep in mind.

Chocolate Cookie Bars Recipe

1. Start with a preheated oven. Yeah, I know it sounds like something that doesn’t make a difference at all but at least the cooking time is faster and that’s always a good thing in my books.
2. Mix everything into a bowl. I know that most recipes ask to mix things in specific order but let’s keep it easy ok? Just throw everything into a bowl and mix until it looks cool.
3. Bake (no need to say anything else about this)
4. Cover with as much peanut butter as you can and then add some shavings on top to decorate.

Chocolate Cookie Bars Recipe

And that’s pretty much it. Chocolate Cookie Bars baked by yourself, in no time. And in case you are wondering they are one of those recipes that’re an incredibly crowd favorite.

Louisiana Wings Recipe

Be a pal & share with others:

I love to make appetizers and finger food to share with friends and family when they come over. Whether it’s to watch a game, enjoy a BBQ, or just because, this Louisiana Wings recipe is a must make on my list.

Louisiana Wings Recipe

For me, wings are the perfect party food. You can eat them with your hands, you can dip them in extra sauces and dressings (ranch anyone?), and everybody loves them. Seriously have you ever met someone that didn’t like wings? It’s almost impossible because they are lip smacking good!

Louisiana Wings Recipe

These Louisiana Wings are just like the traditional wings, but better. They are hot, fire hot, and so packed with flavor any other dipping is not necessary.

Louisiana Wings Recipe

They are also so soft and tender they fall off the bone. I mean, you know you just made a good batch of chicken wings when they fall off the bone with almost no effort.

The secret to the supercharged flavor and the tenderness of these Louisiana Wings is marinating. If you’ve been a reader around here for a while, then you know what I think about marinating the meat before cooking it.

Louisiana Wings Recipe

Marinating let the flavors really soak into the meat, so you end up with a really flavorful appetizer. If you are marinating it with lemon juice as well, you “break down” the meat and the end result is so much tender and juicy. Overall if you are craving a flavorful, tender cut of meat (or wings) marinating it is the way to go.

Louisiana Wings Recipe

So that’s what I did with the Louisiana Wings, I marinated them in hot sauce, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and paprika for around 5 hours. Then after all the flavors were soaked, I grilled them until both sides were crispy and the wings were done.

Louisiana Wings Recipe

And then it’s just a matter of serving with some potato chips and enjoying the good conversation with friends and family.

Louisiana Wings Recipe

Ingredients

  • 4 ½ Lbs. cut in half chicken wings, tips discarded
  • 1 ½ Cup hot sauce
  • ½ Tsp. garlic salt
  • 1 Tsp. paprika
  • 1 Cup lemon juice
  • Potato chips for serving

Directions

  1. In a bowl mix the hot sauce, garlic salt, paprika, and lemon juice.
  2. In a different bowl, place the wings and cover with the sauce.
  3. Marinate for five hours.
  4. Grill for 20 – 30 minutes.
  5. Turn wings until both sides are crispy.
  6. Serve, side with some potato chips, and enjoy.

Caramel Banana Oatmeal Recipe

Be a pal & share with others:

Every once in a while, I find myself craving some home cooked breakfast. You know the drill, something warm that tastes like comfort food, and while I’m not a big fan of oatmeal I decided to give it a try and make some Caramel Banana Oatmeal Recipe at home. And guys I have to say this is delicious.

Caramel Banana Oatmeal Recipe

The most important thing you need to know about this recipe? Is easy, and I’m not saying it just for the sake of saying it, I really mean it. This is a matter of throwing all your ingredients into a saucepan and waiting for it to cook and get all creamy. I usually make this on hectic weekday mornings but this is also a delicious recipe to make on a camping trip when you have limited utensils and ingredients. Since you only need one pot and you can take all the ingredients with you in a cooler is a good alternative to the classic PB&J sandwiches.

Caramel Banana Oatmeal Recipe

And then is the flavor factor, this is packed to the brims with flavor. The oatmeal is cooked with some mashed banana into it, so it’s almost like if a banana bread had a baby with oatmeal.

Caramel Banana Oatmeal Recipe

I decided to take it one step further and also add some caramel to the oatmeal because between you and I a drizzle of caramel makes everything better. While you can totally skip it if you are not too fond on caramel I really advise to keep it there. It gives a lot of depth flavor to the oatmeal + the banana and caramel combo is just one of the best flavor combinations I ever had.

Caramel Banana Oatmeal Recipe

And finally, before serving, top it off with some banana coins (and maybe an extra drizzle of caramel syrup).

Caramel Banana Oatmeal Recipe

Caramel Banana Oatmeal Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups oats
  • 1 ½ Cup milk
  • 1/4 Cup caramel syrup
  • 1/4 Cup chocolate syrup
  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar
  • ½ Cup ripe banana, mashed
  • 1 Cup banana coins

Directions

  1. In a saucepan, over medium-high heat, add all the ingredients. Mix until incorporated.
  2. Let it cook for 10 minutes or until thick.
  3. Remove from heat.
  4. Serve in bowls, top with banana coins and enjoy.

Dark and Stormy Cocktail Recipe

Be a pal & share with others:

There are things that make Summer be Summer. One of them is an ice-cold drink in your hand, I mean the whole season should be spent drinking something delicious, grilling something in the backyard and planning road trips with the family. So in my quest to find the perfect Summer drink I discovered the Dark and Stormy Cocktail Recipe and I only wish I found it sooner.

Dark and Stormy Cocktail Recipe

Dark and Stormy is a traditional cocktail made with dark rum (that’s the dark art on the name) and with ginger beer (that’s the stormy section). It’s a super easy, super straightforward recipe that’s really packed with a punch.

Dark and Stormy Cocktail Recipe

The traditional recipe only calls for the rum and the beer but I decided to take it up a notch and add a couple of drops of bitters. In my personal opinion bitters are the spices of cocktails and let you amp up any drink without a lot of effort. Without bitters, a drink would be just a drink, nothing to call home about.

Dark and Stormy Cocktail Recipe

The traditional drink is also garnished with a couple of lime slices and I can’t recommend using them enough. Seriously bro, I thought the garnish was just for decorating purposes so the first time I made the Dark n’ Stormy I did it without the lime and it was good but missing something, you know what I’m talking about? When the cocktail is good but nothing remarkable.

Dark and Stormy Cocktail Recipe

So I shut down my ego, tried the recipe again with the lime and that was it. It was just like the one you buy from an expensive urban bar but better because you can make them every time you are craving one, no need to wait until you pay a visit to the place.

Dark and Stormy Cocktail RecipeDark and Stormy Cocktail Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. Dark rum
  • 8 oz. Ginger beer
  • 3 drops bitters
  • ice
  • lime or lemon wedge

Directions

  1. Fill a glass with ice.
  2. Add the 1 or 2 ounces of rum, complete with ginger beer.
  3. Add the bitters drops. Stir.
  4. Top with a lime or lemon wedge.
  5. Enjoy.

Bacon Chocolate Ice Cream Recipe

Be a pal & share with others:

It’s Summer, it’s hot outside, the grills are sizzling and the days are perfect to be outdoors by the lake, by the grill or camping, which means that’s the perfect moment to eat ice cream. Specifically this bacon chocolate ice cream recipe.

Bacon Chocolate Ice Cream Recipe

I know I know, bacon in the ice cream is probably one of my craziest ideas so far. But I’m on a pursuit to include it in each meal, including dessert and this is the best way to do so. The combo is not crazy, quite the opposite is pretty good!

Bacon Chocolate Ice Cream Recipe

If you have had a maple bacon donut then you probably already know that the sweet salty combo is GOOD, in this case, we also have the creamy crunchy one that takes things to a whole new (bacon) level.

Bacon Chocolate Ice Cream Recipe

And then we also have the chocolate because chocolate makes everything better. So creamy, crunchy, salty, sweet and with a chocolate punch? Count me in pal!

But to eat bacon chocolate ice cream you have to actually make it, which can seem like the most difficult thing on the planet. Except that is not. It’s easy, really easy. You just need a couple of easy to find ingredients, really crunchy bacon bits (the crunchier the better is how the saying goes) and an ice cream maker.

Bacon Chocolate Ice Cream Recipe

Just mix everything, pour into the machine and let it do it’s own thing while you sit bag and watch a game, go out to throw some balls or start the BBQ process.

Bacon Chocolate Ice Cream Recipe

Once the ice cream make ends up the cycle (it can take as little as 30 minutes if you have a good machine) serve the ice cream in a bowl and top it off with more bacon bits because there’s not such a thing as too much bacon. This Bacon Chocolate Ice Cream Recipe is sure to please.

Bacon Chocolate Ice Cream RecipeBacon Chocolate Ice Cream Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup milk
  • 1 Cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 Cup cacao powder
  • 1/4 Cup melted chocolate
  • 1 Egg yolk
  • 1/2 Cup sugar
  • 1 Cup chopped bacon bits

Directions

  1. In a bowl mix the milk, heavy cream, sugar, cacao and the egg yolk.
  2. Slowly pour in the melted chocolate, add half of the bacon bits and keep mixing until everything is well incorporated.
  3. Pour into the ice cream maker and churn according to directions.
  4. Scoop into bowls and top with the remaining bacon bits.

Marinated Asian Steak

Be a pal & share with others:

Marinated Asian SteakGuys, today I’m bringing you a great recipe. One of those recipes that you should always have on hand. It’s the kind of recipe that leaves people talking for days about your cooking abilities. I’m talking about Marinated Asian Steak, and you should go to buy the ingredients and make it this weekend.

First, this is very easy to make, but it has a couple of tips and tricks that you should keep in mind when making it. After all, this is the best piece of steak you are going to eat.

Marinated Asian SteakThe most important thing? Marinate your meat. It lets the meat infuse with flavor, leaving you my friend with one tasty steak.

Then comes the Asian kick. This Marinated Asian Beef is not your traditional BBQ (nothing against it, BBQ is delicious!). This has an international flair to it, so we are using a couple of seasonings that are basics in the Asian cuisine: ginger, soy sauce, and rice vinegar. When you throw in honey, brown sugar, garlic and sriracha sauce (for the hot factor), you have something special.

Marinated Asian SteakYou can find those Asian condiments in your supermarket, at a specialized food store or if you are feeling lazy and want things to arrive at your doorstep on Amazon.

Once you have your condiments mixed, rub your steak with it and let it marinate for a minimum of 30 minutes. If you have more time, let it sit in your fridge longer. I usually advise to let it sit overnight for a full flavor explosion.

Then just cook the Marinated Asian Steak in a pan or grill for a couple of minutes on each side and serve it with some slaw or potatoes.

Marinated Asian SteakMarinated Asian Steak

Ingredients

  • 10 oz. steak
  • 3 Tbsp honey
  • 3 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 Tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Minced garlic clove
  • 1 Tbsp grated ginger
  • Pepper and Sriracha sauce to taste
  • 1 Tbsp vegetable oil

Side

  • Slaw salad

Directions

  1. In a bowl mix the honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, sriracha sauce and pepper.
  2. Add the steak into the mix, and let it marinate for  a minimum of 30 minutes (up to 1 day).
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
  4. Place the marinated steak in the pan and cook for 7 – 10 minutes.
  5. Optional: add some of the marinated sauce to the pan.
  6. Serve, top with some black pepper, and enjoy.

Bacon Huevos Rancheros Recipe

Be a pal & share with others:

Bacon Huevos Rancheros RecipeBacon Huevos Rancheros

If you’ve been a reader around here for a while then you probably already know that I could eat bacon for every meal. Yes, just like my sidebar says I’m powered by bacon badassery all day every day. So obviously when I make breakfast, I add bacon to it, enter these bacon huevos rancheros that you should make right now.

This is one of those heavy recipes that’s especially good after you spent a night out or if you want to fuel up for a packed day. This is full of cheese, bacon, with just a hint of spiciness and served with a generous side of chips I mean that pretty much makes it the best breakfast in the world if you ask me.

Bacon Huevos Rancheros Recipe

The recipe is really simple as well, is one of those recipes that pretty much consists of throwing everything into a pan and waiting for it to works its magic. The ingredients? Diced tomatoes, jalapeños (this is Mexican, after all), beans, eggs, cheese and bacon. Let’s be honest, you probably have all that in your kitchen already.

Bacon Huevos Rancheros Recipe

Then it’s just a matter of placing the tomatoes, jalapeños, beans, and cheese in a pan. While they are cooking fry a couple of eggs and the bacon and then just mix everything up.

Bacon Huevos Rancheros Recipe

However, you need to keep one thing in mind, the bacon is the spotlight of this dish, so make a good one. Cut a couple of bacon strips really small, you want them to be everywhere on your bacon huevos rancheros and not only in a couple of spots, so the tinier the better. Then place in a pan and cook over medium heat until they are sizzling and look crunchy. Crunchy is the way to go here.

Pair with a side of chips and you are done.

Bacon Huevos Rancheros Recipe

Bacon Huevos Rancheros

  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 Diced tomato
  • 1/4 Cup jalapeños, chopped
  • 1 Cup black beans
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2/3 Cup cheese
  • 4 Bacon strips, finely chopped

Directions

  1. Fry the bacon in a pan over medium heat until crispy.
  2. While waiting, fry the eggs in a pan over medium heat.
  3. In a separate pan or skillet place the tomatoes, jalapeños, beans, and cheese and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes.
  4. In a dish serve the tomato and beans mix, place the eggs on top, and top with the crispy bacon.
  5. Serve with chips and enjoy this Bacon Huevos Rancheros Recipe.

Whiskey Lemon Cooler

Be a pal & share with others:

Whiskey Lemon CoolerWhiskey Lemon Cooler

There’s nothing better, at least in my opinion than a good Whiskey Lemon Cooler. Sure you could have an Old Fashioned or a Whiskey Sour but when it’s summer and you have plans to spend the day outdoor there’s nothing like this drink.

This is my go-to beverage when I’m hosting friends outdoors or when the temperatures are high. It’s refreshing, strong, and packed with flavor. It also happens to be a crowd favorite…so I keep making it. If it’s not broken why change it right?

Whiskey Lemon Cooler

This is also super simple to make you just need to keep a couple of things in mind.

1. The herbs: Add them. There’s no turnaround, you really need to add them if you want your drink to taste really good. Herbs infuse the Whiskey Lemon Cooler with a lot of flavors and add another layer of flavor. So if you are going to skip any step, don’t pick this one. I went with thyme because in my opinion it goes great with the whiskey, but this drink goes great with basil as well.

Whiskey Lemon Cooler

2. The seltzer: The carbonated factor in the seltzer is what makes this drink really refreshing. if you feel like making this recipe even stronger you can swap the seltzer for beer. The whiskey, beer combo is a bomb so drink it with care.

Whiskey Lemon Cooler

3. Ice: Go big or go home with this one. Seriously tho, fill your glass to the top with ice, this is to cool down after all.

I prefer to mix up things individually instead of whipping up a pitcher. since this recipe is bubbly I find that if you make a huge pitcher you lose up part of the bubbles and it’s just not as good.
Whiskey Lemon Cooler

Pair this Whiskey Lemon Cooler with some Citrus Glazed Pork and you are all set for the day.

Whiskey Lemon Cooler

Ingredients

  • 1 oz. whiskey
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1 lime, sliced
  • Seltzer
  • Ice
  • fresh thyme sprigs

Directions

  1. Fill half a glass with ice.
  2. Add the whiskey and complete with seltzer.
  3. Add the lemon and lime slices, and stir.
  4. Add some thyme sprigs.
  5. Enjoy
